Peace, Love and Respect to all the beautiful people of the Twin Cities, it is about that time when the annual TC Day of Dignity will take place; this Saturday located in the cozy parking lot and surrounding streets of Masjid An-Nur in vibrant North Minneapolis, 1729 Lyndale Ave N. Minneapolis, Minnesota 55411.
Twin Cities Day of Dignity has become a staple of Northside provided events and serves as one of the biggest community gatherings to end off another energetic Minnesota summer. Brought to you by Islamic Relief USA, Al Maa'uun (The Neighborly), Masjid An-Nur and many community partners, TC Day of Dignity is a day of free service, community building, smiles and hugs, bringing people together, loving one another and of course treating everyone with dignity which is a basic human right.
The day will be filled with not only free services for the community such as a mega food distribution (20,000lbs), clothes giveaway, school supplies, hygiene packs, free backpack creations with Juxtaposition Arts, 1000 Hot meals, free health screenings, live CPR demos, cooking demonstrations with Chef Mark Hall, a bouncy house for kids, but local live entertainment from some of the finest artists from the Twin Cities!
An extraordinary line-up of entertainment is planned that will have everyone connecting through sound, movement, and energy. Dj's SciPreme and Francisco of the UMAHH DJ Collective will be providing attendees with classic block party beats, anthems, bbq music, soul, Hip Hop, breaks and R&B.
Headlining Day of Dignity is the dynamic duo of Toki Wright w/Dj Miss Brit. Toki and Miss Brit are pillars of our Music, Arts, and Activist community and this is a performance that will be ingrained in your memories for a long time to come.
House of Dance Twin Cities is at the center of the Twin Cities breakin' and dance community and will be putting on a phenomenal dance performance.
Kalpulli Yaocenoxtli will display pride in traditional Indigenous dance and drumming which will be sure to captivate you.
Sun & La made up of Twin Cities Veteran MC T La Shawn and incredible producer Sun Chi Som will display artistic expression at its finest.
Northsides' own Farr Well will be rockin' live his Northside anthem "NFL Northside for Life" as well as other hits he has constructed to keep you groovin' and Yanna Ely will captivate the audience with her raw lyricism to bring the people a full day of free entertainment that will go down in the history books as spectacular.
Iman and Khadija have performed in such events as Facing Race 2012 and 2016, The Nobel Peace Prize Forum 2013, WE Day 2013 and 2014, Sound Set 2013 and 2015, The Minnesota Secretary of State's 50th Voter's Rights Act Anniversary Celebration and World of Dance. Iman and Khadijah believe that their God given dance ability is their superpower, and they want to use that superpower to inspire others.
So all are welcome to come out and show n prove at this year's Day of Dignity October 7th, 2017 from 11-5pm located in the parking lot of Masjid An-Nur in North Mpls.
