The Minnesota Hip Hop Coalition is very excited to announce a new partnership that has formed with Twin Rivers Council for the Arts. After speaking with Noelle Lawton, Executive Director for Twin Rivers Council for the Arts (TRCA), it was evident that we had similar goals in mind for our community.

“We are excited about our partnership with The Minnesota Hip Hop Coalition as our missions, to shift actions and attitudes, are in direct alignment. The arts are a powerful tool to break down barriers and build bridges to deeper understanding and compassion for each other.”

After a second wonderful and successful Juneteenth, just like last year, all the participants wanted to continue nurturing the collective energy that was generated at this gathering. So once again, just as we did last year, The Minnesota Hip Hop Coalition will be continuing to cultivate the collaborative efforts from this now annual event, which we are truly honored to be a part of developing.

Currently MN-HHC Mankato is seeking all age performers, supporters, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers for our 2019 Summer/Fall Monthly Event Series.

Rain or shine, the Minnesota weather was not going to prohibit The MN Hip Hop Coalition from bringing Edu-tainment to the people of Mankato. This was evident as volunteers showed up 4 hours prior to the event asking what they could do to assist in the set-up process. As well as performers calling to confirm they were on their way, but running a little late due to the rain. Everyone involved from the planning committee, to volunteers, to local black owned business owners, and the artists, were ready to experience a memorable cultural event.

Soundset 2019 at last! When we arrived to Soundset at 9AM, the lines were so long, but the sun was shining which made for perfect weather for the largest music festival held at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds in St. Paul, MN. The traffic directors in the parking lot hassled us because we had to get our tickets from will call and they wouldn't let us through without wristbands. But we eventually worked it out and was then greeted by Alexandria and JoJo from Juggernaut. They were very professional and thorough. The security was also very thorough. They checked our bags, scanned our tickets; gave us sparkling water; and gave us the Soundset directory for the show and gave us the “Enjoy Soundset!” as we continued in.
